What's New in IN-SPIRE™ 4.0
Data Ingest
- If an <image> field is contained in the dataset, users will be able to view the referenced image by launching a viewer from within IN-SPIRE.
- Editor now recognizes sub-directories and will automatically traverse the sub directory tree when retrieving documents for ingest (stand-alone version only)
- Users can now specify alternate field delimiters for a document by specifying each delimiter separated by “|” character (e.g., TITLE:|Subject: would be interpreted as use either TITLE: or Subject as the delimiter).
- An "automatic" date format has been added so that the date field for dataset can contain multiple date formats.
Analytics
- Viewpoints: Users are able to view visualizations based upon pre-defined “viewpoints” which can be defined by users based upon terms of interest.
- Affect: Users are able to view visualizations based on measurement of affect (emotion) and other evidence data.
- The Triage Tool has a redesigned user interface and functional enhancements, including copying of networks, administrator modification of networks, and new QBE, slice, and time query capabilities.
- Boolean Query results are ranked in the document viewer according to their relevance to the initial query.
- The Document Viewer and Evidence Viewer were combined into one tool that address multiple usability and performance improvements and provide support for user notes. Users can now enter Annotations to their documents and also Query those annotations via the Query Tool. (The separate Evidence Viewer has been removed from the system.)
- A new Summary Tool combines the best functions of the old Probe and Gist tools into a single component that summarizes both topical contributions and word counts for selected document sets.
- Users can now select documents from with the ThemeView™ using the new Probe Tool.
- Multiple usability enhancements were implemented across the board, including redesigned user interface for Query Tool, font size control in DocViewer and Visualizations “Right Click” query on selected text, and user specified ordering in Correlation Tool.
Foreign Language
- An interface to a 3rd party segmentation tool has been developed for Languages like Chinese and Korean. This improves the quality of the topics discovery within IN-SPIRE.
- An interface to the “Fluent” Machine Translation system is available for US Government users.
- An interface to the “Systran V” Machine Translation system is available for all users (sold separately).
- Cross Language Information Retrieval enables English language queries on foreign texts.
- Language Specific Stop words and Punctuation are applied to document collections containing foreign languages.
